Faculty Profile
Meredith Pedde, PhD, MPH, MPP
- Assistant Research Scientist, Epidemiology
Dr. Pedde is an environmental epidemiologist whose research focuses on the health
impacts of mobile sources, with a particular focus on understanding the impacts of
clean school bus upgrades on student health and performance. She is also interested
in understanding the role of air pollution on neurological disorders and air pollution
exposure science.
- PhD, Epidemiology, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, 2021
- MA, Statistics, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, 2021
- MPH, Epidemiology, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, 2015
- MPP, Environmental Policy, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, 2008
- BM, Music Performance, University of Arizona, Tucson, 2004
Research Interests:
Air pollution, exposure science, child health, neurodegenerative disease, and policy analysis.
Research Projects:
Evaluating the Impacts of School Bus Upgrades on School Bus Riders. This project examines the benefits of a bus replacement program on educational and health outcomes.
Air Pollution as a Risk Factor for ALS. With investigators at Michigan Medicine, Dr. Pedde is investigating the impacts of long-term exposure to air pollution on the severity and progression of ALS.
