President - Paige Jewell (She/Hers) jewellpm@umich.edu
Paige is a second-year MPH student in the Environmental Health Sciences Program, specializing in Environmental Health Promotion and Policy, with a certificate in Risk Science and Human Health. Paige is from Grand Rapids, Michigan, but traveled to Indianapolis to obtain her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences from Butler University. Paige is interested in the promotion of sustainability and climate change policy. She hopes to work within a non-profit or government organization in the future. Paige enjoys being with friends, reading, crocheting, cooking, as well as watching football, hockey, and baseball. She is excited to serve as PHSA President!
Vice President - President-Farhia Mohamed (She/Her) farhia@umich.edu
Farhia is a second-year MPH student in the Nutritional Sciences program at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She earned her bachelor’s degree with honors in Nutrition Science from Kuwait University. She brings several years of clinical nutrition, research and public health experience. Farhia is passionate about the intersection between diet and disease, with a strong focus on addressing health disparities in underserved communities. As Vice President of PHSA, she is excited to help lead the organization through a dynamic and impactful year. In her free time, Farhia enjoys working out, photography, design, and creating her digital diary.
Treasurer - Grace Lenox (She/Her/Hers) gracelen@umich.edu
Grace is a senior majoring in Public Health Sciences in the Undergraduate program, and minoring in Gender & Health. She is from Northville, MI and enjoys crocheting, reading, making music, and spending time with friends and family. Grace plans to pursue a MPH in Environmental Health after graduation with interests in industrial hygiene, environmental justice, and occupational and environmental epidemiology. As Treasurer, she hopes to provide event and scholarship opportunities to the Public Health community through PHSA.
Secretary - Alexis Domzalski (She/Hers) domzalal@umich.edu
Alexis Domzalski is a second-year MHSA student in Health Management and Policy from Livonia, Michigan. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Administration and Spanish from Eastern Michigan University. Alexis is passionate about advancing healthcare accessibility and fostering inclusive, patient-centered services that meet the needs of diverse communities. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, weightlifting, reading, and traveling. She is excited to serve as Secretary for PHSA, where she looks forward to contributing to the organization’s mission and growth.
Undergraduate Representative - Larissa King (She/Her)
Larissa is a third-year undergraduate student from Mount Olive, New Jersey studying Community & Global Public Health and Political Science. Larissa intends on going to law school and pursuing a career in civil rights. She is interested in criminal justice reform, the intersection between health and law, as well as reproductive rights. Larissa enjoys cooking, reading, and supporting the Cincinnati Bengals (who dey!). She is incredibly excited to serve as the PHSA undergraduate representative and looks forward to serving students in a brand new way!
Biostatistics Chair - Yalei Zhao (She/Her) yalei@umich.edu
Yalei is a first-year MS student in the Biostatistics program. She obtained her undergraduate degrees in Statistics and Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She is interested in using statistical and computational methods in interdisciplinary ways to help explain phenomena and create tools that advance science to benefit society. Yalei aims to listen to the concerns of the biostatistics student body and also support the larger SPH student community by promoting communication and collaboration across peers. During her free time, Yalei enjoys dancing.
Environmental Health Sciences Chair - Sydney Morales-Badillo (She/Her) symorale@umich.edu
Samantha Riordan is a senior in the undergraduate program majoring in Public Health Sciences from Northville, MI. Sam is most interested in healthcare management. She is planning to continue onto graduate school in the future. As undergraduate representative, she is passionate about educating the community - both within and outside of SPH - about the work undergraduates contribute to public health. She is excited to help foster collaboration between cohorts and to help improve the inclusiveness of PHSA for undergraduates. Outside of class, Sam enjoys playing soccer, reading, and exploring coffee shops.
Epidemiology Chair - Julia Shin (She/Her) julshin@umich.edu
Julia is a first-year MPH student in the General Epidemiology Program, with certificate in Social Epidemiology. Julia received her undergraduate degree in Sociology at Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. Julia is deeply motivated by addressing structural health disparities, especially in urban environments, and will use her interest in social and spatial epidemiology to research effective interventions. Julia hopes to collaborate directly with communities to reach a shared vision of health equity. In her free time, Julia enjoys sci-fi and fantasy novels and painting. As Epidemiology Chair, Julia looks forward to fostering a deep sense of community and support among Epidemiology students, staff and faculty.
Health Behavior & Health Equity Chair - Jamie Jennings (She/They) jljenn@umich.edu
Jamie is a second-year MPH student in the Health Behavior and Health Equity Program, with a certificate in Social Epidemiology. Jamie calls Missouri and Arkansas home, but completed her undergraduate degree in Anthropology from Baylor University in Texas and her first master's degree in Medical Anthropology from Brunel University London. After school, she worked as a librarian in Georgia. Jamie is interested in LGBTQIA+ health and women's health. Jamie enjoys spending time with her wife and dog in her free time (primarily outside and/or reading). She is passionate about the HBHE program and is excited to serve the department on a broader scale.
Health Informatics Chair - Graciela Lagraba (She/Her) glagraba@umich.edu
Graciela is a second-year Masters student in the Health Informatics program. She is from Seattle, Washington and obtained her undergraduate degree in Public Health with a minor in Bioethics from the University of Washington. Graciela is passionate about healthcare analysis and management. She enjoys singing, reading, and trying new local food spots with friends.
Health Management and Policy Chair - Marina Zambrano (She/Her) mzamb@umich.edu
Marina is a first-year MHSA student in the Health Management & Policy department, with a strong interest in Health Administration. Marina is originally from the northern suburbs of Chicago and received her undergraduate degree in Spanish from Amherst College in Massachusetts. Marina is interested in increasing health access for immigrant populations, especially those who are non-English speakers, as well as expanding access and services for undocumented populations. Marina enjoys running, listening to music, being with friends and family, and baking. She is excited to be part of PHSA!
Population and Health Sciences Chair - Montala Carruthers (She/Her) montala@umich.edu
Montala (mon-tay-la) is a first-year online MPH student in the Population and Health Sciences program. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Public Health and a certificate in Resilience and Trauma-Informed Perspectives from the University of Iowa in 2024. Originally from Chicago’s South Side, Montala is passionate about community health, behavior change, social determinants of health, and health policy and advocacy. She currently serves in two AmeriCorps programs—as a College Coach with Iowa College Aid and a Youth Connect Coordinator with Iowa Community Corps. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and two dogs, watching sports documentaries and crime shows, and dancing.
Graduate DEI Co-Chair - Belle Aduaka (She/Her) baduaka@umich.edu
Belle is a first-year MPH student in the Department of Health Management and Policy. She is from Pleasanton, CA (Bay Area) and earned her Bachelor's degree in Microbiology from Cal Poly SLO, while also competing on the school's track and field team. Belle is interested in governmental health policy, centered around increasing health equity and healthcare accessibility for marginalized groups. She aspires to amplify the voices of marginalized communities at the state and federal level. Belle is ecstatic to serve as Graduate DEI co-chair and she hopes to make sure everyone at SPH feels seen, heard and appreciated. In her free time, Belle loves to hike, run, read and do anything creative.
Undergraduate DEI Co-Chair - Rishika Satapathy (She/Her) satapath@umich.edu
Rishika Satapathy is a senior in the undergraduate program majoring in Public Health Sciences and Data Science. She is from Northville, MI and enjoys cooking, reading mystery novels, and spending time with friends. Rishika is most interested in health disparities and changing the healthcare system. After graduation, she hopes to continue her education by receiving an MPH in Epidemiology or Biostatistics. She is looking forward to fostering an inclusive community at SPH where everyones' voices are heard!
Undergraduate Professional Development Co-Chair - Owen Chun (He/Him) owenchun@umich.edu
Owen Chun is a 2025 CDC John R. Lewis Scholar and a 4th year at Michigan. He is studying Public Health Sciences (B.S.) in the School of Public Health and Microbiology (B.S.) in the College of Literature, Science, and Arts. He enjoys running, everything Star Wars, and RTS games. Being from San Jose, CA, he is particularly passionate about food/nutrition insecurity, infectious diseases, and LGBTQ+ health. Strongly interested in pursuing public health, he hopes to pursue an MPH or become a Certified Public Health Microbiologist. As a Professional Development Co-Chair, he hopes to link the graduate and undergraduate programs while exposing students to the broad field of public health.
Graduate Service Co-Chair - Nour Selmane (She/Her/Hers) nselmane@umich.edu
Nour is a first-year MPH student in the Health Behavior and Health Equity department, originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan. She earned her BS in Public Health with a concentration in Community Health Education from Eastern Michigan University. Her passions lie in advancing and improving healthcare access and equity in diverse populations, global health, and the impacts of social determinants of health in different populations. As Graduate Service Co-Chair, Nour looks forward to working alongside her peers to build connections and contribute to positive change within SPH and the wider community. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, trying new foods, and spending time with her family and friends.

Genevieve Fischer is an undergraduate student on the BS track in Public Health, with interests in food systems, chronic disease prevention, environmental health, and global health. Originally from Plymouth, Michigan, she is passionate about connecting research and public health initiatives to improve community health through prevention. In her free time, she enjoys trying new foods and cooking, hiking, ceramics, and reading. She currently serves as the Community Service Undergraduate Co-Chair on PHSA and is excited to contribute to the public health community.
Undergraduate Social Co-Chair - Meghana Choragudi (She/Her) mchorag@umich.edu
Meghana is a senior at the University of Michigan majoring in Public Health Sciences with a minor in Biochemistry. She is originally from Georgia and is passionate about women’s health, community health equity, and addressing social determinants of health. Meghana has served in leadership roles with Partners in Health Engage, Engineering and Health Community Outreach (EHCO), and Ballet & Books, where she has worked on initiatives combining service, advocacy, and the arts. She is pursuing a pre-med track and hopes to become a physician, with interests in OB/GYN and global health. In her free time, Meghana enjoys dancing, running, volunteering, and spending time with friends and family. She is excited to serve as Undergraduate Social Co-Chair for PHSA!
