Join this presentation by Dr. Desiree Smith, where she discusses her post-doctoral research and experience in Nairobi, Kenya, as a 2024 Minority Health and Health Disparities Research Trainee. At the African Population Health Research Center, Desiree evaluated strategies to decrease abortion stigma among post-abortion care providers and their patients. Dr. Smith has a Doctor of Public Health and a Master of Public Health from Mercer University and a Pre-Clinical Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from the University of Central Florida. She has published research in the Journal of Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities during her tenure as a Graduate Research Assistant at Mercer University. Dr. Smith also has research and evaluation experience in various positions, including at BLKHLTH, African Population and Health Research Center, the National Network of Public Health Institutes, Girl Plus Environment, and the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Equity Technical Assistance Center.
