We invite you to join us for GSSA's 2nd Annual Think Global, Act Local (TGAL) Event, which will be a day of collaboration, community service, and discussion centered on a theme of humanitarian and disaster relief—locally and globally. The Global Surgery Student Alliance (GSSA) is an undergraduate organization at the University of Michigan's School of Public Health dedicated to uniting students for the advancement of global surgery. The goal of TGAL is to provide our School of Public Health and UM peers with an opportunity to learn about and engage with humanitarian and disaster relief as a critical aspect of global healthcare. TGAL will feature keynote speakers Dr. Marie Lozon and Dr. Hari Conjeevaram, who will share their respective work in global frontline care. The event will also highlight important work in humanitarian and disaster relief on a local level through hands-on community service stations. Local health is global health!
