Application
The application process will open in December of 2024. Completed applications will be reviewed and offers extended on a rolling basis. The application will close when all positions are filled, and no later than March 15, 2025.
Applications are considered complete when all materials have been uploaded and submitted and the letter of recommendation has been received. Recommendation letters should be sent as soon as possible in order for the application to be reviewed.
The application is administered through the RedCap survey platform. A preview of the 2025 application will be available for review soon, to aid prospective students in the process of preparing to apply.
- Single-occupancy, on-campus dormitory housing at Couzens Hall (a five-minute walk to the School of Public Health)
- $1,800 stipend
- Up to $500 in travel reimbursements
- $200 in Blue Bucks for on-campus dining
- Lunches and dinners provided at numerous program events and social activities
Application Process
The application requires the following items:
- A single PDF document containing:
- A personal statement describing your interest in BDSI and how it would benefit your education and career goals (maximum two pages)
- CV/resume
- Unofficial transcripts for undergraduate coursework
- List of relevant coursework (e.g mathematics, statistics, computer science and biology)
- Name and email of one reference who can best speak to your academic ability and potential to conduct quantitative research in a group setting. We will send them a link to upload a recommendation letter.
Offer priority is given to:
- Rising juniors and rising seniors
- Students with prior coding experience (any language)
- Students with demonstrated outstanding academic excellence
- Students with convincing personal interest in the program
- Students from groups underrepresented in STEM fields
