Important Deadlines

  1. Tuesday, March 14: Deadline to order academic attire to be delivered to the School of Public Health
  2. Thursday, March 16: Deadline to apply for graduation, in Wolverine Access, if you want to have your name in the University of Michigan Commencement Program
  3. Monday, April 3: Deadline to order academic attire with paid shipping to your home
  4. Monday, April 10: Deadline to make arrangements to accommodate graduates and guests with disabilities
  5. Monday, April 17: Deadline to apply to attend the School of Public Health graduation ceremony
  6. Tuesday, April 18: Deadline to apply for graduation, in Wolverine Access, to receive your degree. (If you do not apply prior to this deadline, you will need to apply for Summer 2023 graduation instead.)
  7. Thursday, April 27, 11:30 a.m.: Time to arrive for the ceremony
  8. Thursday, April 27, 12:15 p.m.: Latest time to be in your seat for the ceremony

Graduation Ceremony Dates 

  • School of Public Health Graduation, Hill Auditorium, April 27, 2023, 12:30 p.m.
  • University Graduate Exercises (Rackham), Hill Auditorium, April 28, 2023, 10:00 a.m.
  • University-wide Spring Commencement, Michigan Stadium, April 29, 2023 10:00 a.m.

The Office of Academic Multicultural Initiatives (OAMI) hosts additional Commencement Celebrations to supplement the traditional UM graduation, which are also held during graduation week, to express appreciation for the achievements, commonalities, and cultural differences that characterize the experiences of Middle Eastern/North African, African American, Latinx and Native students. Commencement Celebration include:

  • Asian/Pacific Islander (API) Graduation
  • Black Celebratory
  • La Celebración Latina
  • Middle Eastern/North African Student (ME/NA) Celebration
  • Native Student Graduation Celebration
