Preparing for Life as an Alum!

Congratulations! Graduation is an exciting milestone, but what’s ahead is even more exciting! As you step into this next chapter, here are some ways to stay connected, celebrate, and set yourself up for success—before and after you cross the stage.

Stay Connected

  • Update Your Information – Whether you're moving, starting a new job, or changing your name, keep your alumni record up to date and share your exciting accomplishments with us!
  • Bookmark the Alumni Events Calendar – You’ll start receiving alumni-exclusive communications, but we also encourage you to keep an eye on the SPH events calendar. We’d love to see you at a reception, conference, or Michigan Public Health event soon!
  • Look Out for a Special Alumni Welcome – Nothing says “welcome to the alumni community” like hearing from those who have been in your shoes! Expect an email from one of our 19,000+ alumni—feel free to respond, say thank you, and ask any questions about post-grad life.

Fuel Your Career

  • SPH Careers Gateway Access – You’ll have access to SPH Careers Gateway for one year after graduation. On the Careers Gateway, you can explore job opportunities, schedule coaching appointments, and register for career prep workshops and employer events.
  • Alumni Association Events & Resources – Connect with fellow alumni through networking events, clubs, and professional development opportunities designed just for you.
  • University Career Center Resources – As a recent graduate (defined as alumni within 2 years of their graduation date), you will have access to most of the same career services as current U-M students, including career fairs, job postings, and career counseling.

Make an Impact for Future Wolverines

  • Complete Your Post-Grad Exit Surveys – These quick 5-minute surveys provide valuable insights that help support future SPH students and ensure your UM degree continues to hold value. Please complete surveys as they come to your inbox.
