Seeing a pattern of poor health outcomes, Georgia State Representative Scott Holcomb wanted to do more to improve health policy in his state. Holcomb describes how he’s since become a better legislator, and a better leader, through his training in public health.

Attending graduate school wasn’t always something that Catherine Garber thought would be obtainable. “Luckily, the University of Michigan School of Public Health has great funding opportunities that helped make my dream of getting a Master of Public Health possible,” said Garber, who is a member of the graduating Class of 2023 after earning a master’s degree in Health Behavior and Health Education.

Claire Liu is pursuing a dual degree from the University of Michigan with a Master of Public Health in Health Behavior and Health Education from the School of Public Health and a Master​​ of Science in Physiology from Michigan Medicine. Liu’s passions and her education have influenced her interests in public health.
