With an epidemiology degree, you'll gain the skills you need to partner with and advise health professionals and agencies at local, state, national, and international levels. Our students are equipped for careers in research, hospitals and healthcare systems, consulting, government, and other private sector opportunities. Their work helps prevent, detect, and treat disease and promote health in diverse communities and settings.

This data was collected from a self-report survey of 2025 graduates from the Department of Epidemiology, administered by the Michigan Public Health Careers Office. This survey had a 87% response rate among Epidemiology graduates.
Among the graduates who responded, 75% indicated that they are employed and 14% indicated that they are currently pursuing an advanced degree, such as a Doctorate.
