With a long and vaunted history, it is no surprise that Michigan Public Health has an opportunity to enhance, expand and reimagine its existing facilities. Our two current buildings—affectionately known as SPH 1 and SPH 2—were built in 1942 and 1971, respectively, with major renovations to SPH 1 in 2006. As student interest in studying public health continues to grow, it’s imperative that we have modern and flexible spaces to deliver on our academic mission.
New construction for—or major renovations to—the School of Public Health is a capital priority for the university. As we work through necessary protocols, we seek private support to ensure our students, faculty and staff can conduct research, learn and build community in a modern, welcoming and state-of-the-art facility that reflects the school’s position as one of the nation’s leading schools of public health.
