Michigan Public Health Women's Health Internship Fund

Request for Proposals

Public Health Practice & Global Engagement is pleased to provide funding for internships with a focus on women’s health. Due to a limited budget, we anticipate funding awards up to $750- $1,000 each. Internships at any level (undergraduate, masters or doctoral) will be considered.

The Summer 2026 application will be available by mid-March. Please contact the Public Health Practice & Global Engagement team at phpractice-globalengagement@umich.edu for any questions in the meantime.

Eligibility

Eligible candidates for these awards include:

  • Internship with a focus on women’s health, broadly speaking. We are particularly interested in supporting projects where the student aspires to work in the field of women’s health upon graduation.
  • Currently enrolled Masters level students in good standing at the School of Public Health
  • Your program must require the completion of an internship as part of your degree; dual degree students must be completing the internship for their School of Public Health program
  • Your internship must be approved by your department
  • Students should be enrolling in the School of Public Health for at least one more semester upon completion of their internship; Second year Dietetics students who have completed their coursework are not eligible to apply
  • Awards will be prioritized for unpaid or under-funded internship experiences. Under-funded placements are defined as having a salary or stipend that is less than $3,500/summer. Due to the limited nature of this funding, students with placements exceeding this amount are not eligible.

Application Procedure

Application details and requirements will be posted in March.

About the Review Process

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis by a committee led by Public Health Practice & Global Engagement staff.
