Forever chemicals linked to hypertension in middle-aged women

New research from Michigan Public Health

Middle-aged women with higher blood concentrations of a common group of synthetic chemicals known as PFAS are at greater risk of developing high blood pressure, compared to their peers who have lower levels of these substances, say University of Michigan researchers.

A new study seeks to better understand how behavioral and environmental factors affect the transmission of respiratory viruses in child care settings. Called MITIGATE FLU (Multidisciplinary InvesTIGation to Ease inFLUenza), the research is a collaboration between Virginia Tech, the University of Michigan, Emory University and the University of Pittsburgh.
