The University of Michigan School of Public Health offers courses for all undergraduate students at the University of Michigan as well as two upper-level undergraduate degree programs for students interested in majoring in public health. Explore your interest in the field with a single course in public health, enhance your chosen major with our supplemental studies program, or begin your path to a career engaged in public health with a public health major.
Public health plays a critical role in the promotion of health, prevention of disease, and empowerment of people to manage chronic illness and disabilities.
Interested in an introduction to the field of public health?
This program is for students interested in exploring public health problems from a science-based or clinical perspective, and students planning to pursue graduate studies or additional training in public health or the health sciences.
This program is for students interested in the complex interplay of cultural, ethical, social, economic, political, and social justice forces that shape human health globally and locally, and for students who would like to pursue careers in health education, public health policy and administration, nonprofit or government work.
The School of Public Health (SPH) offers the option for undergraduate students to pursue a dual degree with the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA) at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.

After graduation, she will join Clark Construction Group as a safety coordinator in Washington, DC, applying occupational health training to protect workers.
